FlexiCook
about.
FlexiCook is a group design engineering project exploring a modular, remotely controlled cooking system for time-constrained university students.
My primary responsibility was the mechanical CAD development, taking the project from early concept layouts to a fully resolved 3D assembly. I translated user research and feedback into concrete geometric changes, iterating the design to improve usability, access, and clarity while maintaining a compact, stackable form factor.
challenge.
The main challenge was converting qualitative user feedback into actionable mechanical design decisions. Users requested clear visibility into the cooking process, intuitive physical interaction, and modularity — often with conflicting expectations around size, simplicity, and functionality.
This required multiple CAD iterations to balance ergonomics, pot access, lid handling, and interface placement, while ensuring components could realistically coexist within a constrained internal volume.
results.
The final design reflects a clear progression from concept to resolved mechanical system, with CAD iterations directly informed by user feedback rather than aesthetic preference alone.
The project demonstrates my ability to lead mechanical design within a group context, using CAD to explore trade-offs, respond to real user input, and converge on a coherent, manufacturable solution.
